Well, here we go again. I found another copy of the trailer for Jiodha Akbar. Lie the previous footage, this one is of, uhhm, questionable origins. Until we can get the official release, we are stuck with illicitly gotten footage.
So, here you go: Another version of the trailer for Aishwarya Rai’s latest film, Jodha Akbar. Again, because of the source of the footage, quality is not the highest, but still… I know I will be glad when they release the “official” trailer.
I was reading the comments on youtube (where I found this trailer for Jodha Akbar) and thought it was hilarious some of the comments over there. It seems everyone has an opinion. For some reason, everyone over there wants to see Ash without makeup. What is all that about?
I compared this one with the other trailer we showed you a few days ago and while they are differences, I get a much better feel for the film now, and certainly will have to go see it.

Well, I told you a few weeks ago that Aishwarya refused to eat a meal with Rani and how rumors were flowing that Ash was talking trash about Rani on the set. Many have speculated that it was some form of jealousy on Ash’s part. After all, we all know the rift that has come between them since Aishwarya married Abhishek Bachchan back in the spring.
If you are just joining us, it will be helpful to know that Prior to dating and marrying Aishwarya Rai, Abhishek was dating Rani and many people anticipated their marrying eventually. However, he shocked everyone by marrying Aishwarya and then Rani refused to appear at the wedding. Anyway…
It seems that Rani has marriage plans of her own. It’s being reported that she is set to marry Aditya Chopra in a quiet wedding in Feburary of next year.
The nuptuials are not without scandal though; it seems that Chopra is already hitched, and the reason for the wait is to allow Aditya to get a divorce from his current wife.
I guess Rani is thinking if you can’t beat them, join them.

Of course, it is not the ideal copy, but I get a sense for the movie and it looks like production values are high and it will probably do well. I know I will go see it just because it has Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in it. What do you think? Will you see it?
It should have been a happy occasion. After all, it was filmmaker Apoorva Lakhia’s 40th birthday party. Potential trouble loomed on the horizon, however. It seems someone invited both Vivek Oberio, who is Aishwarya Rai’s former boyfriend, and Abhishek Bachchan, who is now the husband of the Bollywood actress and former Miss World.
All eyes were on them, but eyewitnesses report that they were both quite cool and cordial to each other, with them having a long conversation at the bar. Everyone was holding their breath, but apparently all went well. Eyewitnesses do point out, though, that neither of them mentioned Aishwarya.
It is ironic that Abhishek and Vivek be seen talking in public, because there are rumors (just rumors, mind you. I can’t find any confirmation anywhere yet) that Vivek and Aishwarya maintain a steady dialogue back and forth, with the two of them talking to each other by cellphone regularly. I guess that is only natural that they still be friends. However, if we spot Vivek in Boston, there will be a lot more questions!
Well, with Aishwarya in Boston, not much is going on, but I did want to bring you up to date on a couple of ongoing stories.
Yes, her loveliness is still in Boston, working on the Pink Panther with Steve Martin. Also in Boston is director Rohan Simpy, who wants to cast the most beautiful Aishwarya in a love story opposite John Abraham. However, since her priorities have changed, Ash is no longer eager to get it on on screen, so Simpy hopes to get her to agree to it. Lots of luck, Simpy. If I were you, though, I would not get my hopes up. After all, she said no to the Pink Panther people.
In news about her family, her father-in-law and Abhishek’s father Amitabh Bachchan turned 65 today. He celebrated quietly at the hospital, visiting his critically ill mother. Aishwarya, of course, is in Boston and Abhishek is shooting in Namibia for Goldie Behl’s ‘Drona’. Amitabh said a birthday was just like any other day for him and he was thankful for his friends. However, crowds of well wishers surrounded his house, causing such a scene the police had to be called.
Well, it looks like Abhishek is going to follow the path laid down by his beautiful wife Aishwarya Rai and do product endorsements. His wife, the former Miss World, has done endorsements for years, most notably for the makeup giant L’Oreal.
Abhishek is now representing several different firms, including Motorola and LG. Endorsements make sense for actors, who are able to use the good feelings and good name their films have given them and use them as an additional source of revenue.
For example, with Motorola, Abhishek will represent their Mobile Products (like cell phones), which is looking for a youthful, daring sort of audience. That sure describes Abhishek. Then there is Ford India, which will have him endorse their Ford Fiesta, a mid-size car in that market.
Apparently, Abhishek is a hot property right now in the ad world. By way of explaining why, Girish Bapat, VP-Marketing, LGEIL, said in a statement,”Abhishek Bachchan is more than just an icon, while his image is sophisticated and upscale, he also projects the aura of an out of box thinker and a caring human being…”
You know, this begs the question of if Aishwarya and Abhishek will get any dual endorsements? Could we see both of them in a Motorola ad, for example?
Would-be Bollywood starlets who have been hoping that since Aishwarya Rai married Abhishek Bachchan earlier this year she would be stepping down to quiet married life will just have to be disappointed. Ash has no plans to step down at all. If anything, she is busier than ever.
She is wrapping up Sarkar Raj and has one more song to shoot for Jodha-Akbar. Plus, she and Abhishek just returned from Boston, where she is working on The second Pink Panther movie with Steve Martin. After finishing up Jodha-Akbar, she will return to Boston to finish the Pink Panther.
You would think that Abhishek would want his wife to slow down and take care of the household, but you would be wrong. Abhishek wants her to work as much as she wants. He admits that not only does he want her to do it so she will be happy, but he has a selfish reason as well. “As her co-star I must say I want her to continue because she’s a wonderful co-star and a thorough professional on the sets”, he said.
When asked how her name will read on the credits, Abishek said that, legal requirements aside, he could care less. It is her as a person he loves, not what she calls herself.
With a man like that, there are a lot of women who have to think Aishwarya Rai is one lucky lady. Men everywhere know that Abhishek Bachchan is one very lucky man.
