The production team behind the latest movie to star the most beautiful Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jodha Akbar, is going back to the cutting room floor. Despite one trip through the editing process already, the movie still weighs in at 3 and a half hours! The powers that be in Bollywood agree, no one will sit that long in a movie, even if it does have the most beautiful woman in the world in it.
On a related note, it is still hard goings finding a decent copy of the trailer for this film, but I found this one on Youtube. Unlike some others I have seen and posted, the quality is very decent. (Given its source, especially)
It was a night to celebrate. The incredibly beautiful object of our dreams, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, turned 34 yesterday, celebrating with her family.
Somewhat appropriately, given her current movie project with Ben Kingsley, she and the entire Bachchan family, including Amitabh, Jaya and Abhishek,were in the Kohinoor Suite of the Amar Villas Hotel, a room with a totally unobstructed view of the Taj Mahal. The only outsiders allowed anywhere near were the two waiters.

They gathered the night before, and when the clock struck midnight, they let Aishwarya cut the cake. Our sources say the party continued for about an hour after midnight.
As I told you before, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s latest project to be hitting the big screen is Jodha Akbar. Although they have been talking about it a lot and she has been flying back and forth to Boston when not working on it, they have finally set a release date.
The movie Jodha Akbar will be released worldwide on January 25, 2008. It will star Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as Jodha and Hrithik Roshan as Emperor Akbar, a love story based loosely upon the trues story of the 16th century Emperor and his wife.
Aishwarya Rai and Hrithik Roshan were voted as MTV’s most stylish couple the other night at the Lycra MTV awards in Mumbai. There have been severalversions of the trailer pirated and released, but the director refuses to release the official trailer prior to November 9th.
The official website has a button that says TRAILER, but when you go there, you just get a nice letter from the director, saying you are just out of luck until November 9th.
What is that? Did I get my stars confused, thinking this was the Beyonce Knowles News Blog? Not at all.
This past weekend, the Bootylicious American phenomenon Beyonce Knowles was on tour in Mumbai, and who was in the audience but our own Ashilisious (!) Aishwarya Rai Bachchan!
Beyonce played to a packed house in this leg of her “Beyonce Experieance 2007 World Tour” and is her first time playing in India. Ash was present with her sister in law Shweta Nanda, sister of Aishwarya’s husband, Abhishek Bachchan. According to insiders, Ash is a huge Beyonce fan and going to the concert was a huge priority after her return from shooting The Pink Panther 2 in Boston.
Hey… we all know she can dance, and Ash is no slacker in the award winning rear end department, but maybe Ash was hoping to pick up some pointers in the bootylicious department from Beyonce?
Last night in Mumbai, the object of our eternal affection here, the most beautiful Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was named the Most Stylish Female Actor at the Lycra MTV Awards.
Every year, the awards honor the most stylish people in a wide variety of categories. Also of interest to readers of this blog and worshipers of the beauty of Aishwarya is the fact that The Most Stylish Film was the Ash movie Dhoom-2.
Well, this is no surprise to any of us. After all, we all know that the Ash is just super hot! She is, you know, one of the 10 most beautiful women on the planet! After all, as we said before, the most astonishing thing about Aishwarya and her beauty is that she is not all about High Fashion. Her beauty and grace is more natural; something she was born with, not something contrived.
At the Lycra MTV awards, the judges were Atul Kasbekar, Farah Khan, Neha Dhupia, Anaita Adajania Shroff, Raghuvendra Rathore, Ramona Narang, Sheetal Malhar, Rohit Bal, Prahlad Kakkar, Manoviraj Khosla, Ambika Pillai, Narendra Kumar Ahmed and Mickey Contractor.
While surfing around getting my YouTube on, I cam across this old film clip from the movie Hum dil de chuke sanam (Released in English theaters as Straight From The Heart). It was a breakthrough role for Aishwarya Rai, giving her exposure to a wide audience outside of the typicl Bollywood exposure.
It caught my attention because:
1. It is Aishwarya Rai
2. She is scantily clad (for her, anyway)
3. It reminded me just how hot she is!
Anyway, in the scene, she is dancing and shaking and such. It really is a beautiful and well done scene.
Well, he may be working with Abhishek, but according to news stories out today, Vivek is not only single, but loving it! He just does not miss being with the super-beautiful former Miss World Aishwarya Rai at all, saying instead that he sees no need to be with anyone.
“I’m very much single. I’ve been casually dating young, uncommitted girls, but that’s it. As of now, I am enjoying my single status,” he says.
Now, I am all for dating young uncommitted girls, don’t get me wrong. But this is Aishwarya Rai you threw over. One of the most beautiful women in India… in fact, one of the top ten most beautiful women in the world!
Instead, he is working, with the upcoming Mission Istanbul the latest announcement in his career, alnog with a recent announcement that he was taking an honorary position in the Army!
Maybe he has heard that women like a man in uniform…
The word on the street is that Aishwarya Rai’s husband Abhishek Bachchan and her former boyfriend and one time fiance Vivek Oberoi are going to be working together in the upcoming film Mission Istanbul. So far the cast names that have been more or less confirmed are Abhishek Bachchan, Viveik Oberoi, Bobby Deol, Shabbir Ahluwaliah and Tusshar Kapoor.
The creative team is Apoorva Lakhia for the director and Suniel Shetty will be producing it. It so far has been described as an “action packed thriller” and while right now, it is still early, everyone is talking about how much the stars are being offered, so maybe it will be a great film.
One thing all of you will find interesting is that Abhishek and Vivek has many scenes together. Shetty says he anticipates no problems, calling both actors friendly and saying that both Abhishek and Vivek are top notch professionals.
