Top 10 Most Beautiful Women in the World

Harpers and Queen Magazine recently released their list of the top ten most beautiful women in the world, and it should come as very little surprise to Bollywood fans around the world that our lovely Desi starlet, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, was named as part of this list.
The former Miss World has fantastic skin, long silky hair, and intoxicating eyes, so we should have fully expected the former Miss World to be considered one of the world’s greatest beauties. She has starred in countless films based out of her home country of India, but she has gained a significant level of exposure in Hollywood and the rest of world as well through her other projects.
Unfortunately, Ash didn’t take in the top spot on Harpers & Queen Magazine’s list. That spot is occupied by Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie, star of such films as Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Alexander, and Girl Interrupted. Shame! Aishwarya is much more beautiful than Jolie!
Other ladies on the list include Christy Turlington, Queen Rania of Jordan, Sofia Coppola, Nigella Lawson, Uma Thurman, Emmanuelle Béart, Kate Moss, and Charlotte of Monaco.

— I have to disagree with this statement. With both women’s beauty illuminated on the outside, the magazine is recognizing the beauty of Ms. Jolie on the inside.
With her devotion to charity, Ms. Jolie is not only known for her amazingly, striking looks, it’s her love for the poor and those-in-need which places her at the top.
I feel that it is befitting. And she is a world-known figure for her contributions.
Not to question Ms. Rai’s charity work, because i’m sure she has made her own contributions. But right now she is concentrating on getting her face out here in Hollywood.
It’s just great both of them made the list.
In fact A. Rai is more glamar than before. I want to email with her and be friendship. Becuse I’m the fan of her.
The norms of beauty have changed worldwide,people dont get fixated on intoxicating green eyes,blonde silky tresses and an hour glass figure,thats too common and is attainable quite easily with the help of cosmetics.Who cares if Ms. Rai endorses L’oreal lipstick,Mascara and Hairdye ,could be that she is in need of it all.What matters is her contribution to society,India is a developing nation and ,Ms. Rai with her stature and fame could create awareness of various causes for upliftment of society and also indulge in numerous charitable activities,but I guess she is just happy sitting on a high horse wearing the title of beauty queen.
On the other hand Ms Jolie is totally oblivious of this honour of being labelled Worlds Most beautiful woman,she is way too busy nurturing her ever growing family,and is constantly trying to make a difference in the world by either supporting earth quake victims in Pakistan or creating Aids awareness worldwide.She on the other hand has used her beauty purposefully,undoubtedly original ,her porcelain skin,full lips,expressive eyes and Gorgeous heart are all attributes that a beautiful woman must posesss.
Ms.Rai is merely a clone of the west,check out her fake brit accent and more recently her hairstyle,she is trying too hard to fit into Hollywood.May she succeed in all her endeavours.By the way there are 8 other names between Jolie and Ash,we cant overlook the other beauties as well.
I don’t think we have the right to judge anyone’s charity work or heart. Angelina isn’t a more beautiful person because she does more charity work (publicly) than Aishwarya Rai does. You don’t have to publicly be doing charity work to be considered beautiful. Your intentions have to be good, and noone can fully know someone’s intentions other than God. So to al of you that were so quick to judge and compare Ash and Angelina, think again before you speak.
I’m not saying that Angelina’s intentions aren’t good because I just said that noone can judge intentions BUT just to play the devils advocate - - her turning to “charity work” benefitted her immensely in the professional standpoint. She successfully turned her image around from freaky, gothic, kinky, sexual wild child to a loving humanitarian and mother. She’s a United Nations ambassador of peace, yet her son’s birthday party had a war theme which promoted war as being fun. Just playing devils advocate here.
What the heck is beauty anyway? Just because Aishwarya is physically gorgeous and YOU don’t think she’s done enough charity work, that doesn’t make her “happy sitting on a high horse wearing the title of beauty queen”. What have you done for the world? 1) you don’t know to what extent either woman has done stuff for the world 2.) top ten beautiful women lists are stupid 3.) what is beauty (if its good looks AND a good heart how do you judge a good heart)…judging beauty for physical looks alone is hard enough without bringing the heart factor into play. These lists are so stupid.
Oh yes, and to what standard of beauty are we judging these women? The white standard of beauty.

I feel both women are gorgeous ,but one probabaly more than the other because of her concious efforts to improve society by setting an example and yes a beautiful heart does make a beautiful person.
Indians have never ever prided themselves for their beauty,we take pride in our history ,art and culture.
If I had to list the most beautiful Indian women ,it would include Sushmita Sen,Shobha Dey,Rekha,Mother Teresa,Aishwarya Rai, Bipasha Basu,Kiran Bedi,Indira Gandhi,Gayatri Devi,Priyanka Chopra,Ujwala Raut,Hema Malini,Sania Mirza,Arundati Roy-But I guess that’s a whole new debate in the making.
Ash’s features are more pleasing to my eyes than Jolie’s, yes. I didn’t feel the need to say that in my previous post because there was no need to. I don’t deny either girls beauty. My comment on asking bloggers what they’ve done for charity or the community was a rhetorical question that was meant to make them reflect on how easy it is to judge someone when perhaps we have no right to judge them. I realize the debate ensued because of the comment by the author that Ash is more beautiful, there is no need to explain that to me. My statement is not to voice why I think one person is more beautiful than the other, rather it is to make people more aware of how wrong it is to say that one person’s charity work is more applaudable than the other, and then to say that that is why they deserve the top spot in a beauty list.
As for calling me petty, that’s a personal attack that didn’t need to be made. Your point that I was off topic was fair, but calling me petty wasn’t. I understand that he’s a child. I never said he was at fault for anything. However I do feel that it is a little weird that she would let him have a war themed party. It’s like me being an advocate for vegans and animal rights, and then letting my child have a animal hunting themed party. Anyone would find it weird. I think both Jolie and Ash are beautiful women, but to say that Jolie is a more beautiful person because she has the physical features AND she does “more/better” charity work is wrong. Yes a good heart makes someone beautiful, but judging people’s charity work and determining who is doing a more worthy cause is wrong. Angelina is very public in her charity dealings, and perhaps she’s doing that to create awareness to those causes. Great, thats awesome. Just because you feel Ash isn’t doing that, doesn’t make Ash any lesser of a beautiful person than Angelina. She is involved with various charities, she does contribute to society, and perhaps she is not publicly acknowledged for it, and does not want to be. What does Ash’s career choices (”getting her face out here in Hollywood”) have anything to do with charity work? If you’re trying to say that she isn’t focusing on society because of this.. then Angelina is also currently shooting for movies and has been accused by others of focusing more on her career than on her children.
To reiterate, I don’t feel that it is right to say that one person’s charity work is greater than the other and then to say that that is the reason why they are more beautiful. Whose to say that helping people in third world countries is a worthier cause than helping people in America because of Hurricane Katrina for example? That’s just an example of how dumb it is to say one charity work is better than the other

Both women are beautiful in their own resprcts, but I consider that Ash is the more uniquely beautiful one. I have never seen any one like she, her eyes are her best feature.
And as for charity work, only a jerk tries to show evry1 how much charity they are doing. It is said that if you do charity with one hand then the other hand must not know about it. So just becoz Ash does not brag about how much she has donated, it does not mean she is not doing it at all

Aishwarya is just there in the list because of her Miss World status. She is looking beautiful now after marriage. Angelina Jolie is far more superior to Aishwarya Rai in terms of beauty. In the list mentioned, I don’t know why actresses like Drew Barrymore, Kiera Knightley, Kate Winslet, Nicole Kidman are not there.

first of all let me just say I’m your regular average girl from Canada.. light beige skin tone, thin, pretty normal feautures. I KNOW how to put makeup on myself.. like a professional job with proper makeup, false lashes, countouring, everything if I want to go all out. The end result doesn’t make me into someone who looks CLOSE to Aishwarya, or Angelina.. or any movie star/model. What makes people think that makeup is some kind of miracle worker? EVERY SINGLE TIME the topic of a pretty girl comes up.. people always say “oh she probably looks ugly without makeup”…um that’s not even possible. All makeup does is hide an uneven skin tone (not CHANGE your skin colour) and highlight and accentuate your features. If you have ugly features to begin with, you’re not going to look better with makeup on. Therefore, Aishwarya IS pretty without makeup (and there is photographic evidence to prove that).
why is there so much emphasis on these things. first off it’s highly ignorant to make a classification like most beautiful woman in the ‘world’ because we haven’t seen ALL the women in the world in the first place. Secondly, these people are media puppets , the bait that media uses to lure people like u into futile discussions such as this , while discarding the real life and beauty and potential that each of you possess . I guess the point is.. some think Aishwarya is one of the most beautiful women they’ve ever seen (from what they’ve seen of the world and the people in it because naturally you can’t see every single woman in the world), and some people don’t. I think that there are two types of beaty
1) Physical - which Aish definately has (every shot, its hard to fault her), and so has Jolie (in tomb rador)
2) Beauty which in the eyes of the beholders - which our partners see in us, because of our nature.

No one said Ash was the most beautiful woman in the world other than herself. She was arrogant and vain on the David Letterman and Oprah shows. Jolie is beautiful inside & out, caring for others, self-less. Ash is self-centred, and never have I ever heard of her doing anything charitable other than contributing to herself. I agree completely with the statement that it is wierd to promote war themes when you are ostensibly an Ambassador of Peace - even if (and especially if) it involves a little child. That’s where the conditioning to good thinking begins.
