Aishwarya and Abhishek Are No Longer a Couple
Jul 3rd, 2007

On screen, at least. Don’t go rushing to your fellow Bollywood fan and tell him or her that former Miss World Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and her husband Abhishek Bachchan have broken up their marriage. Quite the contrary, they are still quite the happy couple, but they will not be starring as a couple in Sarkar 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the original Sarkar by Ram Gopal Varma.
Abhishek and Aishwarya will still have leading roles in the movie, but they “will not star as a couple.” Instead, Ash will “shock audiences as Rukhsar,” said Varma. “To say she’ll be portrayed like never before would be an understatement. Nobody would expect a looker like her to portray such a dark character.” Unlike all the other films that she has done so far in her career, Ash will be totally without makeup in Sarkar 2. Her beauty also “won’t be enhanced by filters and shaded lighting.” It’s au naturelle for Aishwarya, and “that’s when I think she looks her best,” continued Varma.
The main couple in the movie will pair Abhishek Bachchan (as Subhash Nagre) with Tanisha, just like in the first Sarkar. It should also be noted that Abhishek’s character “won’t be as enfeebled with age as suggested earlier.” He’ll be more at the forefront.
