One way to gauge a popularity of any given celebrity is to see how many times that person’s name is searched for on the internet. In recent days, many people may have been looking for information on Paris Hilton’s jail term, but that pales in comparison to the ongoing infatuation that the world has with former Miss World Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
In fact, at a recent press event, representatives of MSN-India (Microsoft Network of India) announced that Aishwarya is the most searched Indian this year on the website’s search engine. She beat every other Bollywood star, but this really should be of little surprise, given her rising popularity and the amount of press surrounding her marriage to Abhishek Bachchan.
In response to this announcement, Ash was quoted as saying that she was “delighted” and that this news “shows the good support of our well wishers from across the world.”
