Brendan Fraser to Star in Singularity with Aishwarya
May 21st, 2007

The lovely Aishwarya Bachchan is not only a huge star in her home country of India, but she is quickly gaining recognition clear across the globe as a certifiably beautiful and talented actress. Crossing over into Hollywood cinema, Ash is set to star in an upcoming film by Roland Joffe called Singularity, in which she will play the love interest of a British officer in colonial India. The main Hollywood star in Singularity is said to be Brendan Fraser, who has previously starred in such Hollywood films as The Mummy, Bedazzled, and Encino Man. It is unclear whether he will be playing the British officer or the other big role: an American marine biologist “struggling to save his research partner who is trapped in the wreckage of a colonial Brit merchant ship.”
The film, according to Filmmaker South Africa comes with a budget of $35 million and shooting will take place in India, as well as South Africa. The epic movie — previously known as The Invaders, has been in works since the late 1990s. Bollywood star Vivek Oberoi was also rumored to be a part of the all-star cast, but word is that he was dropped “due to his past romantic association with Ash who is now married to Abhishek Bachchan.”
