Aishwarya to Become Indian Warrior Queen
May 4th, 2007

Our impression of the beautiful Aishwarya Bachchan is that she is a lovely young woman and a former Miss World. Our view of the Bollywood star may soon change, because Aishwarya has reportedly accepted a role in a movie wherein she will play Rani Lakshmibai, a famous Indian warrior queen.
As part of her preparation for this new movie, Aishwarya will have to learn “to use a sword while riding a horse.” This will involve “intensive training,” according to director Ketan Mehta. “The role demands a lot of action scenes.”
Rani (Queen) Lakshmibai, who died at the age of 23, was the legendary ruler of a north Indian state of Jhansi. Lakshmibai played a key role in the failed 1857 uprising British colonials. Mehta plans on employing several British actors, technicians, and trainers for the movie, which will be titled Jhansi Ki Rani, or “Queen of Jhansi.”
