Aishwarya Summoned Over “Obscene” Kiss
Apr 30th, 2007

Readers in North America may find this a little strange, but Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been summoned to court over a public display of affection with Dhoom-II co-star Hrithik Roshan. In the movie, Roshan lightly kisses Aishwarya on the cheek, and under Indian law, these types of scenes are considered “obscene.” A local lawyer has accused Ash of “offending public sensibility” by allowing such a scene to appear in a movie.
If convicted, Aishwarya may face up to three months in jail or a significant fine, but given her public prominence — as well as her newfound affiliation with the powerful Bachchan family — it is unlikely that anything will come from this.
The court hearing has been scheduled for May 30th in Muzaffarpur in the eastern state of Bihar. Aishwarya is to appear, along with Roshan and the owners of the cinema which screened the action film. A notice has also been sent to the Bihar government “for allowing screening of the film despite its obscene content.”
Aishwarya looking very beutiful.
