Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan exchanged vows at one of the biggest weddings of the century on Friday in Mumbai, but there was another event near the Bachchan home that nearly stole the show.

Jhanvi Kapoor, a belly dancer and small-time Bollywood actress, slit her wrists in a desperate cry for attention outside the groom’s house. The distraught Kapoor claims that Abhishek once offered to marry her, but later reneged and moved on to marry the former Miss World instead. This is in addition to another claim, one that Jhanvi made on television, that she and Bachchan once had “physical relations.” Indian police described Miss Kapoor as “a drunk and a depressive who had no evidence to support her claims.”

The self-inflicted wound required 40 stitches. Jhanvi Kapoor appears to be in physically stable condition, but nothing has been said about her current emotional state. Based on the picture provided above, most people would probably agree that Aishwarya Rai is much prettier than Kapoor.
