It’s Official: Aishwarya Rai Marries Abhishek Bachchan

Many circles are referring to this as the wedding of the century, garnering as much if not more attention than some of the highest profile nuptials coming out of Hollywood, USA.
The scale of the wedding, which took place in Mumbai, was astronomical. The giant tent was decorated with countless flowers, encircled by gold curtains, and surrounded by the sounds of trumpets, drums, and clanging cymbals. Thankfully, the tent was air conditioned. For the public, however, they could only hope to catch a glimpse of the wedding party. Innumerous fans climbed rooftops, scaled trees, and overran the streets.
Aishwarya Rai, the green-eyed starlet, remained hidden from the crowd, but paparazzi managed to sneak a peek, reportedly discovering that the 33-year-old was wearing an “intricately embroidered sari” that was either red-and-gold or gold-and-cream.
The couple has appeared in several films together already, typically starring as a romantic pair. Now they embark on a surreal real-life equivalent. We wish Rai and Bachchan all the best.
